Just got these for 28 dollars, they work smooth as silk.

Which should I play first, and which do you prefer; Mario or Sonic?

Play Sonic 2 first. Play Mario when you get a game over in Sonic.

Rinse, repeat. Neither is difficult but I'd be impressed if anyone could clear either game on their first go.

I bought one of my copies of sonic 2 for 3 dollars, the other was 10 cents.

I bought my copy of super mario 3 for 8 dollars

These were all within the past month.

That's the not for resale version, which means it was sold with every Genesis.

You can buy it for a buck easy

Let me guess, you bought them from a "retro" gaming store?

I played SMB3 on my GBA but not Sonic 2, and I'm trying to get into the older Sonic games and also trying to expand my game collection in general

If you haven't played sonic, then there's your answer. It was the first game I played, it defined my childhood.

Also SMB3 might look bad in your eyes because the GBA version has nicer graphics. Not too big a deal though

I don't give a fuck about the graphics, the gameplay is smooth as silk, better than the GBA version

OP, my local shop usually won't even buy Sonic 2 from people, because they always have 100 copies. They sell them for $1.99, complete in box. Mario 3 is the same deal, but they sell it for $6.99 I think, loose. You could have gone to literally any shop that sells games and drowned in Sonic 2 and Mario 3 carts.

OP here, I grew up with SMB1 (on both NES and GBA) before playing GBA SMB3

I felt that since I owned SMB1 on both systems, then I should own SMB3 on both as well, considering how they are both great platformers and how much time I sank into both of them as a kid
