That's really depressing. So much potential for this series only to disappear after 2 games. It had tons of variety, personality and managed to be unique while still staying true to the foundations of the genre. Now it's effectively completely forgotten despite being one of the best games on the MegaDrive outside of a small circle of Shmup autists.

The story behind why there is no 3rd game is funny. Takayan wanted to make the 3rd game on Dreamcast and pitched the idea and mockups, but Vic Tokai wanted to put him on a different project making a game for (it was either super famicom or n64 I don’t remember) but Takayan being the big Nintendo hater he was said forget that and left the company. His hatred for Nintendo is weird but amusing.
