On the topic of the SM64 threads going around recently, I wanted to bring to light one of my favorite games ever, and some creepy shit in it. For example, on rare occasions when you beat the boss Puffy, the closet doors at the end of her boss room open to reveal a weird lamp lookin object. Rarer still, it will fall out, revealing that it's wearing a mask of a human face. This is the only screenshot I've been able to get since you only have a couple of seconds before the stage ends after beating a boss. You can get a better angle by flying to the right.

Also, I've only ever seen this for myself on the [shitty ass] Steam/PS3/360 port, despite having migrated to the far superior Saturn original years ago and playing it a ton since, it's that uncommon to happen.
Other creepy shit includes:
>the guillotine in Jackle's boss room dropping sometimes [which I've never seen in any version]
>the strange abstract statues in Soft Museum
>everything surrounding CLARIS_SPIRAL and SELPH

bumping for interest. I haven't played nights in a long time but I'm sure there's many weird stuff to be found in it.
That lamp with the human mask is incredibly creepy.

I’m fucking blitzed off my ass but bumpan for interest
Why does this game stick around? I never played the original but something about this game keeps attracting me. Is it the pure SOUL, or something else?

Saturn is an esoteric console, and Nights was the central piece of it.
Most people's memories with the Saturn are hazy. I can definitely remember getting one back in the 90s, I remember playing NiGHTS and LOViNG it, but then there's a gap where I don't really remember much, almost as if those memories from the 90s were injected into my mind through dreams, and ultimately the Saturn materialized on the real world. I still have that Saturn, but I often think if it's real or not.
At any rate, I love it.

As someone who was too young to have played a Saturn back in the day, I never knew about it until the last several years. I was kind of taken aback by this more or less mainstream console by Sega I was unaware of. Plus they always stuck Nights cameos into their other games, so I was interested.

Saturn games are genuinely cool and underappreciated. I like how weird the hardware is.

The NiGHTS cameos are what made me seek out the original myself. It’s crazy how out of all Sega’s weird spinoff franchises NiGHTS seems to have attracted some small staying power
