i can't say for sure without a full analysis of your appreciation of the console and games, a list of what games you plan to buy, your full financial history over the last twenty-four years, any emulators you may have used in the past, and two unbaised observers to confirm the data

For 2020, yes you have done well. Prices have gotten insane recently.

To put you in the picture, I got a Pikachu blue N64, all the corresponding power cables, two Pokemon blue/yellow controllers, 1 rumble and 1 memory Pak, and a few games including goldeneye in early 2009 for £30.

That might have been a clueless mom clearing out the attic, though.
Also in 2009 I got Banjo--Tooie boxed in very good condition for £25.
I also got an N64 job lot, console, pads, and like 10 games including perfect dark and diddy kong racing, for £25. In 2010.

In 2008 I got an Atari 2600, 2 games and a joystick for £20. In 2010 I got Resident Evil Zero, 1, 2, and 3 on gamecube for about £7 apiece.
Code Veronica X was expensive even back then, but only like £20-30. Nowadays it goes for a lot more.

One factor that people never mention is that as the 80s and 90s get further away, good condition, working, pet-free-smoke-free-home consoles become rarer and rarer. In many ways the price inflation is kind of natural. Also, consoles are mainly for kids and we all know what kids do. I literally poured a cup of water on a VHS player when I was a kid, "to see what would happen", lol. I knew a kid at school literally crammed mashed potato into his gameboy cartridge slot. And the amount of PS1 discs that got scratched would probably have sunk an oil tanker. So yeah, these things are becoming rarer.

Depends how nostalgic you are for the Wii. Also I personally think the white Wii is the iconic one, so I am not that fussed about the black one.

Does it have its box?

How zoomer do you have to be for that?
Wii is good for its emu properties and being able to display 240p natively, and it does have some good exclusive games as well, despite people thinking it's all shovelware, but really the main attractive point for /vr/ users is Wii's VC wads and the SD resolution which along with a CRT makes it for a pretty nice emu center.

2006 is a pretty long time ago, fren.
Yeah I was gonna say depends how good its Virtual Console library is, but I think that is pegged to your Mii/Nintendo account (or whatever), or does it save to the console? I dunno, I never had a Wii

Plus if it is boxed you could probably sell it at a profit in another 10 years, if you were so inclined. Personally I think selling this stuff is pointless, you basically only ever break even. I would rather just have it.

>> No.6458816

>>6458793
samefag here, just adding :
To be honest, if I were to sell my consoles, I would want back AT LEAST what I paid for them (in real terms), plus a bit extra because my stuff is all in good condition and I kept all my boxes. I even kept receipts and price stickers and so on, as far as I was able to.

But basically nobody will pay that, because buyers are all looking to bring prices down. So it just becomes pointless.

Unless you have a REAL rare gem and you are never going to play it, and you really just need some money now, I wouldn't bother selling my games. Plus what is the top end price of a rare game? You probably won't see games go much beyond £350 (realistically). And what is £350, like one month's rent?
You may as well just keep the game, it's a cool conversation-starter and gives you / your home character.

I never used a WiiU or a Switch, but Wii's VC is great. Generous selection of NES, SNES, N64, Sega Genesis, Turbografx-16 (including Rondo of Blood), and even Neo Geo.
And no it's not tied to any account and you can pirate everything.

When you consider Wii is a good way to play lots of retro Nintendo titles, can do Gamecube backwards-compatible, and you want to play it all on original hardware and CBA with emulating, all in 50 Hz, and if you were hankering for a Wii anyway (for whatever reason; zoomer nostalgia, I guess) then £100 isn't so bad for the privilege of that I guess.

>>6458712
Wii guy : ask what Virtual Console titles it has, and if it is boxed and complete with all cables and whatnot.
And ask yourself, more importantly, how bothered you are about it. I hate to say it but £99 is probably the cheapest you'll see Wii's at (for a while at least)

Can't you just download the .WADs and use a wad launcher? it doesn't matter which VC titles the system has installed, what matters the most is if you can install CFW on it.
