>Nintendo had a patent on their design

And not just the external look of the d-pad, either. The internals on the NES d-pad are so choice, definite sweet-spot for digital accuracy in platformers for example. So it don't matter how good a non-Nintendo d-pad looks on the outside. Underneath the hood is where their design shines. And if you've seen the underside of it that I can't find an image of, you know what I'm talking about.

>> No.6451515

>>6450871
I personally don't. mostly because you're still gonna use the left thumbstick controlled by the left hand more than the right one (which is mostly gonna be for camera/perspective and not still used as often in comparison).

Although I use a mouse normally with the right hand. that works fine for me.

the only times where it felt wrong not having a lefty-version of something was when playing guitar for me (so I got a lefty acoustic guitar) and just writing with pen. using a knife for cutting veggies or meat I also use my left hand instead.

>>6450850
I mean, that depends. it depends on the quality of the controller, dead zones, sensitivity settings and what not. But I'm not that good at aiming either. Better to use a mouse in any case.

After researching, some seemingly-good 3rd party PSX/PS2 controllers I've found out about are:
>Logitech Precision Controller (wired and wireless)
>Hori Analog Sindou Pad 2
>Hori Analog Sindou Pad (PSX)
>Mad Catz Dual Force 2 Pro
>Mad Catz Dual Force
Can anyone back up the quality of any of these? I'm thinking of buying a Sindou 2 pad personally since that one seems the most alright, and I trust Hori. With some good controller adapters I could use it on whatever console I want.
