Kowloon's Gate is a pretty good otherworldly feeling PS1 game.
Adventure game that takes place in that famous decrepit enclosed city block that was in Hong Kong before it got demolished not too long ago.

I consider it the world's only gnostic RPG. There's a weird vibe of absurd suffering throughout the whole thing with a few NPC's like Vivec who have pierced the veil. I think you're supposed to piece together that the universe is a simulation through paying attention to the main quest and reading books and achieve satori.

Not retro, but Atlantis 2: Beyond Atlantis gets pretty trippy at points.
