I recently managed to fix my old Playstation 2 and I was playing all the old games that I used to play in 2012. I barely fixed the console my cousin brought me a disc with the snes station and after seeing a bit of the games it was bringing (and how bad that the games run) we realized that in the upper corner and in the credits there was a certain Hiryu as creator of the emulator, after searching his name on the internet we found a little information about him on a wikipedia page dedicated to him, He said how he died in 2005 and another was given another emulator created by him. After an exhaustive search we could not find more information, I came to / vr / to find out if anyone knows about this legend that brought us many benefits of piracy

He's not emulating THE ps2, he's emulating ON the PS2.
By your standards we shouldn't be allowed to discuss emulation unless we're using pre 1999 hardware to emulate on.

Try looking in psx-scene forums. There might be something about him there.

This thread is not about the PS2. It's about a man who contributed a lot to the emulation and homebrew community. OP mentions the PS2, because there happened to be an emulator developed for the console that kick-started his interest and search for the developer. Read the thread next time before shooting it down.

Really hoping for someday some code wizard takes this project and updates it, the retroarch cores on ps2 are pretty decent.

I remember discovering the webpage for this emulator before it was released. I bought a mod chip for my PS2 from Lik-Sang in anticipation of it coming out. It was kind of a letdown when it came out since most of the games didn't run at full speed unless you turned off the sound. At least that's what it did on the versions I used.
