Why would leaks of unreleased/beta stuff make Nintendo fans angry?
I wouldn't consider myself a fanboy, but I love Nintendo games, and I'd love to see more unreleased/beta stuff. I can't imagine why someone who likes Nintendo wouldn't be interested in those. It's akin to being a fan of a music band and getting unreleased demos and outtakes.
But so far, I don't think I've seen anything from those leaks, just some curious demo game that I'm still not sure if it's real or fake.

Super Mario Bros 3. The promo screenshots that I saw on the box instilled in me a fascination with missing and different content in videogames at an age before I even understood what I was looking at. At the time I thought that was all hidden content sealed away in the game, that the different World 1 map was some whole other world. I forget if it were my own deduction or something told to me by an acquaintance's older sister, but I thought it was World 0 or something.

There exists an archive of at least two episodes worth of levels for Duke3D that didn't make it into the final release (Apogee Arms Hotel, S.P.E.R.M. Bank, Toxic Beach Head, etc). It would be really cool to check them out (and the people who made them say they were quite finished), but Gearbox refuses to allow any alpha/beta material related to Duke to be released for some reason.

The Nintendo CD version of Secret of Mana. Apparently, Sony backstabbed Nintendo and created their own system (PS1), but if they didn't then one of the launch titles was going to be Secret of Mana. They planned for a much more detailed game that was also going to implement time travel (which was split and reused with Chrono Trigger). It would've been a much different game if they had the ability to put it on a CD.

I don't know about other English speaking countries, but "let it rot" can mean just letting it sit there doing nothing. Usually talking about a car. I guess it refers to the fact it's getting closer to rot/rust/etc. Once it's actually fucked, people usually say "he let it go to rot."

Well, context. "let it rot" past tense indicates that it was already done for, so I wondered if you knew that for a fact, or if it was just sitting in a drawer, with the knowledge in mind that literal rot can end ROM chips in some cases. Just seeing if you have an avenue to maybe acquire the cart and therefore the ROM to save for all, is all.

No one will read this, but I recently got my hands on an old leaked beta version 0.65 from around mid-late 1995.

>Apogee Arms Hotel
This is a never-seen-before map loosely based on a small part of E1L6 in Lameduke. It has a few nice wall textures and signs that didn't make it.

>S.P.E.R.M. Bank
Literally Bank Roll in the final game.

>Toxic Beach Head
Same as Toxic Dump but starts from a different place.

Also, a few previously unseen space levels exist in the beta.
