GlideN64 or Glide64

nice image, i would actually take that over a vanilla blur type image

what emulator was that in?
also for that image, did you use gliden64 or glide64?

I got called a shill and accused of spreading malware when i recommended m64p.
It was behind a patreon paywall but is now free again.
Hands down the most simple and easy to use out of the box solution out there.

How are things in 2004? Since you probably have to back soon, just remember to record EVERYTHING from 2005 onwards. Trust me.

how did you manage to get it looking so shit? Whhat is this meme of trying to get the n64 to look like a psx? Same with that mario pic above.
>>6406201
Played through body harvest, dk64 and half way through silicon valley.30 hrs easily
-2 crashes
-2 instances where a quick load would load a save but would then just hang.
I think its pretty acceptable. runs like butter otherwise, with the odd minor sound issues. Its no golden bullet, but its leagues ahead of pj64., and also better than the retroarch stuff too. Most importantly, zero setup required.

It's not a meme, I'm just seeing how the games look without the bilinear filtering.

I could have just told you the answer to that-objectively worse.

I've been messing around with Conker in retroarch and I just can't seem to make the game look good without glitching either during gameplay (when I'm using parallel) or during cutscenes (mupen64). Is a modern version of PJ64 with Nglide really the only option to make it look decent enough through emulation?

>> No.6406314

>>6406230
To be fair, it fails its purpose if you stretch the images to 1024x728 instead of the original resolution. Although still, even if it's a nice curiosity to be able to do this, the game designers made those textures with bilinear in mind, otherwise it also failts its purpose. But people are free to play how they want, I guess.

What glitches have you encountered? Conker works pretty well in PJ64 with GlideN64, hell, even in 1.6 with JaboD3D 1.6.1 it worked pretty nice.
>>6406314
I know about that, but like I said, It's more of a curiosity than anything else.

>> No.6406348

>>6406331
With parallel it happens that you can see a not-fully rendered model of Conker in the left upper corner when you're walking around during gameplay and on mupen64 the backgrounds and the above side of the models glitch like crazy during cutscenes (like with queen bee right before you retrieve the nest). I used both GL and Vulkan cores so I'm not sure if the visual glitches happen because of driver issues in retroarch.

I remember trying to run Conker on PJ64 1.6 with both glide64 and one of those jabo plugins, it had less visual glitches but the game locked at random intervals like right before you fight the first boss in the farm. I have no idea if I was just doing it wrong or if CBFD really is that hard to run the game on emulators. I'm fine with playing on my N64 but fucking hell I really don't feel like paying over a hundred dollars just for one N64 game so I'd rather emulate it for now.

I never found any lockouts while playing Conker on 1.6, i didn't ever need to config some other options like with other games (like DK64).
You might want to try PJ64 2.3 with GlideN64 4.0 and check if it runs well on your PC.

Do they still sneak in that toolbar BS with the PJ64 installer? I remember that being a bit controversial back when 2.0 was new.

Hey if anybody here uses Retroarch to emulate N64 with mupen64 and happens to also use a retrolink/retropower usb n64 controller and can't get the fucking thing to keep its autoconfig I solved this problem but I am to much of a smoothbrain to learn git and try to push an update. So here is a link to my pastebin if you replace the cfg file for the retrolink usb n64 controller with this it will always work as soon as you plug it in no rebinds neccessary.

https://pastebin.com/gNM5YrXq

for refrence it doesn't seem to rebind because the original config file is missing about half the buttons the controller uses including the Y button which is used by Mupen64 as the B button on an N64 controller.

I use a adapter/official controller but I appreciate you sharing this.

Can definitely echo how shit RetroArch was for remapping it, though. And still is, because it will just spam notifications saying the second controller is unplugged (a common issue with all manner of adapters). Got so annoying that I just emulate N64 on m64p or PJ64 nowadays (since they have Rumble Pak support too).
