Europoor here. Can some of you fatburgers explain me something? Why someone thought it'd be a good idea to force a anti-drug campaign screen onto every single piece of arcade hardware? What was their endgame? Why arcade games and not, I don't know, fucking hip hop albums? Why only arcades and not the rest of the platforms? Were US arcades a literal crackhouses during the 80s?

>> No.6397261

They wanted people consuming hiphop to use drugs so they could make money arresting them.

They wanted smart, nerdy whites to stay clean so they could later lead the country.

To warn youths on dangers and harm of drug abuse? What kind of question is that? Kids like video games.

>What was their endgame?
To win the war on drugs?

that doesn't really answer his question though: if putting a screen into arcade games telling you winners don't use drugs is effective, why not put it into home console games too?

Im curious if theres some sort of "public broadcast" rule where since the arcades are in a public venue, they can make a rule to force it to say XYZ, while home consoles are not and thus they cant regulate them the same. Much like satellite TV can air smut without the FCC coming down on them since its not public like radio. Anyone know?

possibly the point was to get the message out in public. wikipedia also says it was an anti-counterfeit measure.

>The slogan was part of a long-term effort by the United States in its war on drugs started by President Richard Nixon in 1971.
figures kikepedia commies would try to paint Nixon as the aggressor... the drugs attacked first

>Fay secured 20 arcade manufacturers to include the slogan in their games in exchange for these games being featured to the FBI.
I wonder what 'being featured to the FBI' might mean

Nixon was a fucking monster and the “war on drugs” was well known as a front to attack minority groups. It’s a bit ridiculous to call Wikipedia kikepedia but not recognize the very real history behind the war on drugs.

“ You understand what I'm saying? We knew we couldn't make it illegal to be either against the war or blacks, but by getting the public to associate the hippies with marijuana and blacks with heroin, and then criminalizing both heavily, we could disrupt those communities.”

At any rate OP is retarded. It was a good faith act to get kids to not use drugs. Because drugs are in fact mostly bad.

Drugs aren't bad, drug abuse is bad. Substances aren't inherently good or bad, they're just chemicals.

Some drugs are just bad my man. You gone tel me that meth is ok in moderation lol? I agree though. Drug abuse is bad and most drugs should be legalized. If I wanna sit around on weekends smoking weed with my 3 wives and 2 husbands that’s my business

The actual answer is that it was the usual political busy work, designed to give the appearance of addressing a problem without requiring any significant effort or results.

Yes actually, don't conflate the biochemical of methamphetamine with the clandestine means people use to produce it and the usual types who choose to abuse it. Methamphetamine is subject to the same principles of bioavailability and activity as any other compound; your physiology, the dose, and the administration pathway are key factors in how it will impact you. Crushing rocks and chasing that buzz? Yeah, you're abusing the stuff? Carefully dosing a little at mealtimes or in the afternoon for a little pep? You're about as much of a junkie as people sitting at a coffee shop reading the news or an ebic gamer guzzling their third mountain dew of the day...

>Nixon was a fucking monster
The Nixon Shock literally rescued America from complete economic ruin, re-establishing relations with China closed off one pathway to a 3rd World War, and he enacted environmental protection laws that were entirely unprecedented. He did make some mistakes (such as helping the rogue nuclear state of Israel in their aggressive policies against their neighbors, or pushing for racial desegregation despite being elected by pro-segregation Whites), but ultimately Nixon was the best president the US has had in the entire 20th century.

>It’s a bit ridiculous to call Wikipedia kikepedia
Fuck off, Israelis literally take courses in school on how to push Zionist propaganda on Wikipedia:

>very real history
What you pasted there is a Jew (John Ehrlichman) being quoted by another Jew (Dan Baum) who due to their ethnic affiliation had plenty of reason to besmirch and belittle Nixon and his legacy. In reality, Nixon politically worked for the desegregation of Blacks and privately praised Blacks for their loyalty to the United States and their aversion to Communism, while being highly critical of Jewish Communist spying, Jewish media domination, Jewish promotion of pornography and perversion, and Jewish warmongering on behalf of Israel:

Why are you mad about some guy asking about something he wants to know more about?

Also what console games have this message? I feel like I've seen it in console games but I can't think of a single example, it could be Mandela Effect swiss cheesing my brain

if the US wanted to "win the war on drugs" then why did they sell crack to fund the Contras and why did poppy fields only start to once again appear in Afghanistan after the US invasion and occupation of that country?
