It had a decent Japan-only sequel Royal Stone with some really good sprite work. The gameplay is kinda broken but it looks like a Genesis game. I also liked Defenders of Oasis, Shining Force, Dragon Crystal and Ax Battler. It was a pretty good system for puzzle games as well.

Card Battlers and all the first party fighting games are top tier. It's definitely worth your time, as is the Wonderswan if you're into puzzle games. WS is probably the best handheld for puzzle gaming of them all.

The battery thing was definitely what sunk the system. Unless you bought the adapter, you couldn't really enjoy a decent session, and the adapters had a short lifespan. I went through 3 or 4 before I had one custom made (and it still works).
The screen was amazing for its time but it was simply too much of a drain.
