Sorry but I cannot share the hype with you. As soon as I think about 4 I think about all of the amazing Streets of Rage fangames that were cease-and-desisted. I'm sure 4 will be a fine game. I probably wouldn't feel like playing it anyway, but even if a small part of me did I'll be perfectly honest and say that I think my bitterness over the treatment of the fans and the fangames would contest it.

My guess is that whoever made the port just enabled the unlock-all cheat by default. Usually you get other characters by completing the game with different characters/difficulty modes. There are secrets hidden too, for example, to unlock Roo, you gotta finish the game without killing any of the kangaroo mobs; if you first beat the clown baddie that controls them, the kangaroos will flee, and once you finish the game in any ending, Roo will be in the roster.

The hate for SOR3 is ridiculous. The American version was screwed because they kept changing the storyline too much trying to censor stuff that most people in the states couldn't handle. Just play the translated patch of Bare Knuckle 3. That's the true SOR3. the ost went with the mood of BK3 instead of SOR3.

And fuck sor4, just stick with sor remake and call it a wrap.

I actually like 3 a lot and couldn't get used to 2.
I felt that 3(BK) is way way more fair whereas bosses in 2 grab you out of fucking nowhere and in general enemies just fuck you up.

My one tip is: don’t play as Axel. His back hand isn’t strong enough to beat Mona and Lisa on stage 5. If you stand in the corner and back kick them over and over with Blaze or Adam, you can finish that fight without a scratch.

Also for Big Ben on stage 4, stay near the top or bottom (whichever one he isn’t at) and walk towards him when he comes down. If you time it right, you should just miss his attack and be able to punch him in the back. If you pause in between punches you can stun lock him and take him out quickly.

With the twins if you master the up+jump throw recovery I found Moving up and down following their shadows allowed me to grab them more often than not. Was playing on normal though

Its okay, not godawful but I definitely prefer the way the old games look. When was the last time a more modern game was able to successfully capture that type of visual quality anyways? As in looking like a retro game but to the bumped up visual quality of modern tv's and smoothed out sprite animations and such? I can only think of Sonic Mania. Sonic Mania looks absolutely amazing and should be the standard of how you do 2D games from now on.
