Put a ton of hours into bomberman 64 and bomberman gb (the one where bomberman looks like Indiana Jones on the cover, it seems like the naming is a little fucky between regions).

Single player bomberman never did much for me but the multiplayer in both was ace af. I liked how you could play 2 player using a super gameboy in gb

Some of the games I really enjoyed came out post 2000's like Tournament, Generation, and 2 (DS).
