What are the hardest /vr/ games in existence, or at least the /vr/ games featuring the hardest tasks? I'll start with Kaiser Knuckle aka Global Champion. Came out in 1994, but there's no record of anyone beating bonus boss The General until all the way to 2009.

There's also Tetris The Grand Master 3, which famously has had only 9 people worldwide (so far) ever achieve the Grand Master rank in the game's ranking system.

It's fifteen or some shit now, with the latest being a dude who played TGM3 Classic for 11 months before getting the GM rank.

Gradius 3 arcade, giga autist japs have been playing it for decades and are still chipping away at its loops. Current record took 17 years of intensive playing and is "only" 10 loops.

To add onto this, the rarity of GM is also definitely propped up by being a niche product never officially available outside Japanese arcades.

I feel like the Western TGM Community blows things way out of proportion. I'm not saying that the games are not hard, but I'm saying that the Western TGM Community are a very niche group compared to Guideline and NES; so as a result, a lot less people have the TGM accolades not because it is hard, but because people don't care to have them.
I honestly believe that the NES Maxout is much harder than the TGM1 GM rank, arguably slightly harder than the TAP+ Green GM (and I am still extremely iffy on this), but the bigger NES community creates an illusion that TGM1 is harder just because more people have a Maxout than a GM.

What's the first game in the Shmup category?

I could see that. TGM1 GM isn't absurd, but maxout on NES requires a pretty solid understanding of DAS charging and all that shit.

You have to be a turbo autist to even enjoy it. There are no continues. They pussed out and gave it a stage select for home releases.

I like shmups but loops are fucking retarded. How long does it take to get to the 10th loop, like eight hours?

>> No.6357353

Probably over 10 hours with deaths, G3 is an hour per loop

So it sounds like the limiting factor is player exhaustion and not skill level. I'd start to slip at any game after playing it 10 hours in a row
