i played the dc and didn't find anything different besides some graphical tweaks on the character's models, also dc controller sucks, if i want to play the game in the "ideal" way I'll just play the pc version with capped framerate.
Also the comic-style screenshots replacing the fmvs was a neat idea.

I wouldn't consider The Death And Return Of Superman a "bland outing", especially the SNES version. But then again I used cheats to beat that game, I'm a fan of that storyline and was surprise how close they stayed true to the story, I am a fan of Superman, Steel & Superboy, the graphics & music were spectacular. My only real gripe was the boss battles being too hard and not being able to play the other Supermen on other levels after beating it.

>very cheaply made despite hefty price and multiple "versions" of the same game
>terrible art choices, sometimes literal clipart
>rulesets that are overly dependent on modes (some of which are secret) rather than an overall sense of progression
>several pins that feature gimmicks that result in a fucking house ball almost every time, many times this has to be patched out due to complaints. Kiss I'm looking at you.
>LCD color screen monitors instead of DMDs, changing the focus to distracting and overlypolished screen flair
>Games that have a fucking center button. Oh my fucking god games that do this can suck a fucking dick. Game of Thrones is the worst game of pinball I've ever played and this was a big reason why.

I think Stern shit is fun enough not to avoid it, but I'm 100% with you on the LCD shit and the center button shit. Why do all their games have center buttons?

The other thing I don't like (not sure if it's just a Stern thing -- Medieval Madness remake does it too) where the "skill shot" thing lets you change which slot thingy at the top is lit with the flippers after you plunge. It's not a skill shot at that point. Why bother?

I still consider this the "Official" theme for Gambit in all instances, video game or otherwise. Too bad most players will only hear the first 30 seconds, considering the bullshit stage.
