Angela: Save my mom, reclaim my kingdom
Hawkeye: Save my girlfriend, reclaim my guild
Riesz: Save my brother, reclaim my kingdom
Charlotte: Save my friend, save my grandfather
Kevin: Save my dog (This is done before you even fight the first god beast and he literally has no purpose for the rest of the game)
Duran: Get stronger than the Red Wizard because he won a fight in the intro. Contribute nothing to the rest of the story route, which is about Angela.

JRPG is a very specific genre that originated in Japan and was inspired by computer "RPGs" (which had nothing to do with roleplaying but borrowed mechanics from D&D), hence the name. A game with the so-called "role-playing elements" (levels and exp, i.e. it is in itself a misnomer) can be made in japan and not be a JRPG or it can be made in the West and most definitely be a JRPG.

Conveying speech quirks through spelling is a known newbie error. It's a god-awful mistake. But it is "known" only among professional writers, which are not the kind of people Square would hire to do game script translation/editing. This horrid shit is coming despite being the literary equivalent of comic sans, which is what makes some upset.

Hawk - Riesz - Angela team for all rounder purpose of buff, debuff and magic if needed. Physical attack may not be the strongest raw damage wise but theres buffing and debuffing to help that and Angela is there to maximize Poto oil healing and sniping enemies with her magic.
For class, its Nightblade - Starlancer - Grand Divina. Nightblade and its deadly Lv.3 tech and its debuffs, Starlancer for Marduk and all target buffs. Though Angela can be any class, I prefer Grand Divina since it has a higher Int cap from her light class.
