Is there any way to get this thing to double the lines of a signal without a remote control?
Also what's a good universal remote to use with it? I was stupid and didn't buy one with the thing itself.

Yes. Any decent programmable one. You can't feed yourself with a $5 remote.

Eh there are definitely worse things I could have revealed from my shopping history

If you can afford an OSSC, you can afford the pre-programmed remote control...

I forgot to include it and don't want to wait another ten days for it to arrive

I can understand not buying the overlay, as once you memorise the buttons, you don't really need one. But the remote itself... You'll need one of those.

yes but I forgot to include it. So I bought a reprogrammable one and I'm hoping it'll work. I'm just wondering if there are known compatibility issues or if there's somewhere I can find the codes I'll have to put in the remote.

You could use your smartphone if it has infrared.

Thanks for the recommendations. I'll try it. I still use the old one I downloaded from google play very long ago.
