Because on Dreamcast you're dealing with GD-ROMs. If you want to put it on CD you have to hope you can compress things down to make it fit. If you can't do that then your only options for testing it are emulators and expensive disc drive emulators.

On top of it all the technical people involved were more familiar with the Saturn than the Dreamcast.

Because the technical team was made up of people who had experience working on previous Saturn translation patches. NoahSteam who was also the project lead, came from the Dragon Force II translation project. The other technical person was TrekkiesUnite who came from the Grandia translation project.

Man applying the patch is a pain in the ass. I only managed to patch the first disc but even then the game crashes when i finish the first battle I was using retroarch because the emulator that the instructions reccomend didnt work[spoiler/]. Does someone has and can upload the patched iso?

just finished the first episode. for it worked out of the box using mednafen, just drag and dropped disc 1 cue and thats it.
maybe its something with the bios? i was having some problems with the japanese saturn bomberman and using another bios solved the problem.
