Metropolis Street Racer is a fun racing game I always loved, quite challenging too. Virtua Tennis is a lot of fun to play with 4 friends, but even by yourself it's great. I also love the rhythm games like Space Channel 5 and Rez even if they've been ported.

Timestalkers, timestalkers, timestalkers. Do not listen to any retard that would tell you Evolution is a good game, it's a slog of boring environments, piss easy gameplay (outside of bosses), and no fun outside of dungeons. TIMESTALKERS though, is a rough around the edges dungeon crawler with roguelike elements that is busting at the seams with extra content that is full of charm. The hub world expands in weird strange ways (New York downtown, Japanese town, flying turtle Island, etc.), There's individual encounters with all background characters with stories centered around them that change each time you beat a dungeon. You have the option of using Lyle from Landstalker, Pyramid from Shining In the Darkness, and Lady from Ladystalker (even jogurt if you use a ring). On top of this it has a fun monster catching system. Literally one of the only games I've come back to every year for the past 10 or 11 years. It's a bit rough but if you can look past that you'll find a never ending game full of fun and charm

Easily Shenmue and if you can PAL Shenmue 2. It's perfect to get into these games now because Shenmue 3 came out back in November so you'll be able to experience all 3 games. Also if you don't have a Dreamcast then all 3 games are available for PS4/PC.

I really liked Under Defeat.
It's a rather easy shoot 'em up, but for me it was just the right difficulty. Bullet hell stuff gives me anxiety.

Soul Calibur & House of the Dead 2 & Crazy Taxi all felt really good to play and looked great. They were basically the same as the arcade, and that was quite a thing to experience back then. Before Dreamcast home console ports were always big downgrades from the arcade.

But yeah SoA is great and is probably the best non arcade style game on Dreamcast.

I've already run around enough, Dobuita isn't that big. And I talk to many people, most say "sorry, I don't have time now".
I'm actually impressed by the early attempts at an open world game. But it's... clunky and outdated by today's standards (sounds stupid, I know, but many games from the early 90ies play lile a charm today). I guess like with many games, you have to experience it when it's new.
The story is interesting though and the atmosphere charming, so I will continue to play.

No one ever talks about Mars Matrix on the DC.
It's the game that got me really into shmups, first of all they took a game that was already great and added a separate button for the sword attack, making it even better.
Then there's this progressive singleplayer mode where you gather exp and levels to progress to points you couldn't before, making you slowly learn your way through the entire game.
It's a fucking masterpiece.
Also Code Veronica is the best Resident Evil there is.
