What filter do you personally recommend and use for games? (preferably a pastebin with the source or a link or a name)

I tried the NTSC filter in that link (http://emulation-general.wikia.com/wiki/Shaders_and_Filters)) floating around and I just end up with this shit and I doubt it'd be any good in color anyways.

The good filters are the ones I see posted in filter threads on and on again and no one ever responds to requests for them.

Yes, the combination of a coarse slot-mask (or classic RGB triad) and poor focus will obscure them. It's difficult to find a high-quality (bright, good geometry, stable picture, lots of inputs) TV with that "problem", though. Nearly all CRT televisions exhibit them when used with a pseudo-240p source. CRT was the top-selling display technology until 2007. Ergo, the games were expected to be displayed with scanlines. Developers are not blind to how their games are consumed. (Look at how meticulous VALVe is with the differing gamma curves on consoles vs. PCs, for a modern example).

This is true, most GBA games pushed brightness and saturation really high to compensate for the fact the GBA screen was dark and had a terrible color gamut.
