CRT-Royale + tv-out-tweaks + image adjustments with further customizations. Then with reshade clarity shader over top of that.

It's not that bad for most late model CRT's, and if you use good replacements like Panny's, shit is gold for another 30+ years. Cap replacement is really beginner level electronic repair.

For the retards, there are board repair sites on the internet you can ship to as an option, it isn't cheap though, but still an option.

I know, I'm a chemist and I understand people that don't wanna learn basic distillation.

Just telling you from a layman's POV, using CRT filters when your Trinitron starts dying seems very much more tolerable that actually repairing the fucking thing.

And that's all that matters.
It is a giant PITA to open up a set, find out what caps you need, buy a decent soldering unit and solder and solder wick, learning how to do the shit right so you don't wreck yourself or the TV, etc.
Let's be real here, going through all of that just to solder caps on a TV once every 15 years is a pain in the fucking ass. If you're in EE for a living it's different. Most of us are not.

CRTs are inferior tech, but NOT for games designed to run on them. DUH, no shit games developed on CRTs for play on CRTs looks best.
