Why do Saturn owners always recommend inferior ports for games that are better played as their original version?
You don't see N64 owners recommending the Gauntlet Legends port in every N64 thread, or PS1 owners recommending King of Fighters '95 in every PS1 thread.
But in every Saturn thread, there are always a massive amount of inferior ports recommended. It's sad, really.

>Why do Saturn owners always recommend inferior ports for games that are better played as their original version?
All the games I mentioned are arcade ports Sexy Parodius is equal to the PSX port I guess. Primal Rage is maybe tied with the 3DO port, and it's not even possible to emulate the original arcade version in MAME since the copy protection is uncracked to this day. Salamander Deluxe Pack Plus is a collection of arcade ports which was also on the PSX, pretty much equal ports. Daytona USA was created by Sega and therefore obviously not ported to PSX or N64.

As long as it supports BIN/CUE you should be good. You might have to experiment a bit with burning speed. The lower the better, but most modern optical drives can't write at 1x without screwing up. I recommend that you start at 8x.

I have a soft mod Sega Saturn. I just realized that the Japanese version of the previously American released games run smoother and better. I was unable to play Croc (USA &EuR Versions) because the character was missing and the ground started glitching like crazy. But then I got a hold of the Japanese version they called Croc! Pau-Pau Island, and that version plays waayyy better. I used an English manual just to figure out the controls (Standard controller is better than the 3d controller for that game imo). I can say the same thing for the Japanese version of Wipeout XL on Sega Saturn. I didn't even know that there was more than one Wipeout game for the console, cause developers were struggling on the first one. And the import version of Wipeout XL is English friendly like no other, but use the 3d controller for that game and skip the first Wipeout game on the Saturn.

Metal Slug on Saturn has near constant slowdown, some background seams are misaligned, the backgrounds and sprites seem to move at different speeds sometime, it has noticeably downsampled sound effects, and despite the RAM cart it is still missing a lot of the animation. It also has input lag when it slows down.

Satiator won't have 100% compatibility because it works through a software hack. Same as the Pseudo Saturn. Some games will inevitably trip it up. It also doesn't work on all hardware models right now (launch units don't work), and the mpeg cart slot is as poor as the memory cart slot, so it won't be reliable due to bad contacts (the betas already have a debug light indicator exactly for this).

That and it's funded through patreon and we all know what that means.

If you use a burner from 1999 then yeah. On modern machines you can burn at any speeds; unless your console has a fucked up laser, it won't make a difference.
