Are old cartoons based on classic games welcome here? If so, let's talk about this show.

Does anyone else find it interesting that Luigi's characterization of the cowardly and somewhat weird guy that didn't manifest in games until Luigi's Mansion showed up in these cartoons for the first time?

Also why was Luigi the straight man and Mario the stooge in the live-action segments when their roles were the opposite in the cartoon segments?

The Mario show should have been just the live action segments. The cartoon was so bad it's funny for some wrong reasons, mostly for bad animation, but I would seriously watch the live segments alone as a series.

Adventures of Sonic is pretty much the only one I actually like though.

I actually loooooved the Ruby Spears Megaman cartoon. It's still my favourite one to date. I remember getting up at 6 AM to watch it on Fox Kids on Saturday mornings. Well, I'd watch Iron Man at 6 AM and some sort of live-action show where actors would fight each other and had like, 3 power medallions on the side of the screen to represent how many hits they could take? I totally have no idea what this show is called but it was so awesome. Then Megaman was on at 7 AM, I still find some of the segments to be pretty funny to this day. That theme song is great too. I really don't get why people give this show so much grief, it was pretty damn great. That Megaman X episode is GODLY!

I love AoStH. Funny thing is, back when I was a kid, I absolutely hated it. I hated how it was goofy and cartoony and thought SatAM with it's dark and edgy atmosphere was infinitely better.

After going back and looking at both now, though, I feel it's the other way around. AoStH is actually pretty funny; many of the gags are actually pretty smart and the animation's well done. That version of Robotnik is defiantly my favorite iteration. Meanwhile SatAM just seems kind of cheesy in the way of a scifi channel movie. It's not necessarily bad, but it's just too corny to take it as seriously as they try to present it.

And to think I wouldn't have even given AoStH a second chance were it not for youtube poop

Honestly, seeing him do the voice in person made me appreciate it a lot more. He's just so enthusiastic. I think the other voice might've worked for cartoons, but for the games I want a Mario who sounds ready to take on the world, not a middle aged brooklynite who sounds ready to take a nap.
