Did Americans compose any music for NES games? What did they sound like compared to Japanese and European composers?

>> No.6239870

Maniac Mansion is the first example that comes to mind. Acclaim also developed for the NES, you could try some of their games. In general though there were not a huge amount of American devs who did NES stuff. You would find a lot more for the 16-bit consoles.

They probably stopped trying after hearing Tim Follin's soundtrack for Pictionary. What an unbelievable soundtrack for the most unremarkable game.

Especially since they had the famicom overseas, they also had one more audio channel than the NES

The industry was still recovering from the video game crash in the late 80s.

What's up with him making good music for bad games? The only exception I can think of is Plok and even that game isn't on the same league as most classic platformer games on the SNES.

His music in Silver Surfer is also a masterpiece.

You mean the disk system? That channel was barely used.

Could it be that with the sole exception of Rareware there were no good English developers? “Nooo” cry the Commodore and Spectrumfags, without any good games to bolster their arguments.

I had recorded some of the game's music to a cassette recorder I had as a child. You know, to take it with me so I could have theme music too.

Pictionary isn't bad, though. Next to Anticipation legit the best party game on the NES.
