Was the X-Files the largest retro vidya? It took up 7 CDs. I don't recall any other game being so huge and being released on so many discs.

Black Dahlia came with a whopping 8 CDs!

You can't "recall" something that happened before you were born. Off the top of my head Phantasmagoria was 7 discs on the PC and 8 on the Saturn. There was also a Saturn game that was released in episides over the course of several months that was something like a dozen discs, although the overall size of the game wasn't that big.

How many MBs there are videos and audio?

I really can't stand the gatekeeping that crept in here over the past few years.

He's basically admitting that retro games don't hold up because you can only appreciate them if you played them when they released.
Which obviously isn't true, but it's a funny enough own goal.

If the new CoD was released on CD-rom it would take up over 200 cds. Could you imagine the installation. I'm getting flashbacks to those Battlefield 1942 collection disc's I had way back.

Do floppy discs count? I remember System Shock released on 9 floppys discs.
If you mean filesize, then it obviously doesn't count

>> No.6211395

>>6211275
Who knows what "counts". The physically "largest retro vidya" would be some ancient mainframe the size of a house that could barely manage to play tic tac toe with little bulb lights so I guess OP meant bytes. That being said the largest of whatever medium makes for interesting discussion. I remember in the mid-early 90's a lot of stuff was available on CD or floppy and the number of floppies was yuge. It'd be interesting to know which game used the most. I remember some of the point and click games using a lot. Definitely more than a dozen. I'm sure some NEET here has the time to get a definitive answer.

Another thread derailed and quality of the board further diminished thanks to people stroking their own egos. Great work everyone. It'd be nice to actually get some janitors worth a shit on this board.

The original of Baldur's Gate with ToSC was 6 CDs. Only a small part of those was dedicated to ugly FMVs and the bulk of the data was those huge area bitmaps.
