Posted in the CRT general but no responses. What are you guys favorite carrying cases? I have to go on a work trip and the hotel room doesn't have a CRT so I'm going to bring my 8" Sony but I don't have a case.

How long are you gonna be on this work trip? I can't imagine bringing my CRT with me when I go on work trips. Seems like a lot of work if you aren't gonna be gone longer than a week or two. What system are you gonna bring with you?

>How long are you gonna be on this work trip?
5 days so it's going to get boring.

Not really, it's not very heavy.
>What system are you gonna bring with you?
Wii for SNES games, and a PS2 slim for some PS1 games.

Haha imagine seeing anon walking into hotel carrying a crt.

Brah, just take a laptop with you or a modded psp.

When I was a kid I went on a cross country road trip because we were moving, had a cool set up in the back of the van with a cry and my PS1, good times. I don't think I'd go so far as to bring a crt with me these days though. I'd be fine with a Gameboy or emulating the games

We just can't win against your ilk.

I've never personally taken my PVM on trips but I know Phonedork used to when working telecoms in the field so you have my blessing.

Portabrace seems to be the industry standard. I imagine they're appropriately priced but perhaps you could pick up a used one for a more reasonable sum?

That would indeed be weird. But seeing a hipster in a coffee shop with one wouldn't surprise me.

Are you flying?
If not just put it in the rear floorboard of your car and go on.

If you MUST have a case just go to a tool supply store like Harbor Freight and look for a big hard tool case that it will fit inside, then line it with eggshell shipping foam. Or buy a foam mattress cover from a dollar store if you're cheap like me.

I'm confident I could build a CRT case a monitor that size for less than $50.

No one is going to give a shit about seeing a man carrying a small crt from a car to a hotel room. And anon shouldn't give a shit if they do.

I'd wonder where the rest of the camera crew were and when the mystery movie star being interviewed was going to show up.

It's the games that matter, as long as you aren't playing them on a broken screen.

If you're the type of person who insists on being such a purist, especially based on a lot of subjective opinions, that you have to take a fucking CRT with you on a work trip to play vidya, you aren't chasing a good time playing vidya. You're chasing something else entirely, and it's probably something you'll never get.

Could also be a mental disorder, but that's less romantic.
