They were releasing too many failing titles at the time (even though they were good games) and giving away too much (good) promo shit, so they probably tried to avoid taking the obvious L this release would have brought. That said, you may be right (RIP Card Hero, Captain Rainbow, New Play Control! Chibi-Robo, Chibo-Robo DS 2, Legendary Starfy (GBA) etc, etc).
