I enjoyed the book, had no idea this existed. Will have to check it out.
For those interested the book is one of the first to explore a lot of the standard Cyberpunk tropes like jacking into cyberspace and fancy designer augmentations and stuff.

The game isn't really that good, I played it back in 2002. There's an adventure part, and the "cyberspace" part, where you run along a pseudo-3D cyberspace fighting rogue programs and AIs.
The adventure part needs you to take a lot of notes, and some of the stuff is counter-intuitive. I recall there's a part where you're supposed to get arrested to proceed (you can get arrested normally, but this one is different).

About similarities between the game and novel, they're mostly character names. Most of the stuff happens differently from the novel.
Examples:
- when you reach Villa Straylight, it doesn't really feel like you're in space.
- Molly doesn't appear
- Armitage... well, don't ever call him. You'll understand.

There are Amiga and DOS versions. I've played the DOS version.

Different series, but japs have a weird fascination with the symbol and western religions in general. You see random judeo-christian shit pop up everywhere in anime and japanese games.
