loved this animehttps://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3EVn5xpw6qodub is shit but love this scene
this thread has promise, and inspired me to trawl through fucking tumblr to find more. i feel gross but at least i found a few nice gifs
Invading this thread with /co/ /vr/. What are you gonna do about it?

Not a fan of anime but those pictures are nice, keep posting them please
shame that mutts didn't really care about anime until the late 90's, we missed a lot of great games for the NES and SNES
>>6155417The shut in that drew that probably took that photo of himself, then traced the results, just replaced his fat ass with an anime girl. I'll give him a couple of years at most.
>>6155417Clean your fucking room, skank!
>>6156720The whole damn "westernization" movement really fucked things for awhile.
>>6156648First chapter is already out but there's zero gaming in it.
>>6155371It's funny, even though they put the Saturn in Eva due to Sega, if you think about the world they're in, you could argue a Saturn would probably be a pretty common console for someone to own at the time. Where everything almost ended in 2000 and no more consoles were made during or after since they had other pressing matters to attend to.Just like /vr/.

Lupin has a few vidya games here and there. One episode even had Lupin and Jigen play Space Invaders to crack a safe. Other ones I remember was Lupin playing some form of Xevious and Pong. Webm related, had to speed it up so I could reach the 2 minute mark.
Kamichu! was set around 1983-4 and had a small inclusion of a Famicom, in the form of a Famicom God.
>>6157632They also had an ad for what seems to be a Famicom and a Mark III
I remember getting a bit annoyed at this, since Tonegawa is meant to be set before Kaiji which would've been around 1995 or so. In this scene, one person is playing on a PS1 (as seen by the controller) but since Madhouse wanted to modernize it by putting it today, they didn't update the console and instead shows this guy playing PSO2 with a PS1 controller. Not sure if it fully counts but I imagine OP wants random /vr/ vidya from anime.
>>6157645Oh, actually here's a better shot.
>>6155429This reminds me of those comics someone made where a tsundere has a crush on the american student and he always tells her to stay away from him for being such a bitch.
>>6155378Since when Sega was making TVs?
>>6155961>Having that advanced graphicsIf only
Genshiken had a lot of vidya from time to time, from cosplays, consoles, actual discussions, gameplay and more. It was quite fun to watch for those things alone. It was mostly a mix of 5th and 6th gen stuff since it came out around 2003. Their club room had a Dreamcast and PS1 hooked up that they used a lot, I think they also had a Saturn, Wondermega or a Neo Geo as well but I could never tell. They also played Puyo Puyo (although it was on PS2) and Guilty Gear a lot, but I think the games became more modern as time went on.

>>6157815Oh Sorry, I don't know Guilty Gear when I was trying to find a suitable webm to post, I know it had a PS1 game and assumed it was that. They at least show /vr/ consoles from time to time. >>6157947Oh yeah, there is also the bit where he talked about Wild Arms.

Any good /m/ /vr/? I beat pic related recently and it was pretty great, it even helped me memorize the names of the mechanical beasts. I'm looking for action games, so no SRW. Also, any good Kamen Rider games besides the bland beat-em-up on SNES?

>>6163217You mean a Saturn?
>>6158601Lol that's literally the only one of these images he actually drew, I think the one of Super Saiyan Vegeta and Goku is from a magazine article on one of the Super Famicom games.
>>6163242Was Saturn even out in 1995?
>>6158601That’s pretty clearly a Toriyama Goku.

Mamimi's wonderswan from FLCL
>>6155960>>6163224I could've sworn I heard they were making a second season or a new webseries or something, but I can't find where I saw it.
>>6163489>>6164109I was playing Genesis in 1994 and 1995. No one, absolutely no one I knew had a Saturn, right till the end of the console’s life. I remember reading teasers about it in Game Pro, along with little blurbs about other projects like SEGA Mars or SEGA VR (dunno if these were the same thing) that never released. So to suddenly hear it that it somehow came out the same year I was playing Sonic 3 & Knuckles, before PlayStation even, that... messes with the timeline of my gaming childhood in a pretty big way.
>>6155371>>6155373>>6155375>>6155378Wow these are clean. Are these the Blu Ray rips?
>>6164967I'm surprised you think so!They were upscaled with ESRGAN's Digital Frames, more of which (as well as it's problems) is shown herehttps://boards.fireden.net/co/thread/112552841Here's what the original frame looks like, is it as clean? It's from a fan-remaster, but that aside it's really good looking.
>>6165089On that subject, here's what happens when you twixtor cartoons with the same thing as https://youtu.be/MjViy6kyiqsit's... not good.I'd have used the test I did of Akira but this really shows where the network's limits are

>>6165102aw screw it(Akira is low-res because of the limits of the slow-mo software)If you compare it to https://youtu.be/4QU2yjjdz1k?t=112 (done with Twixtor) it actually looks better, save the weird timing (due to having to remove every frozen frame before slowmoing it)
>>6155429Right way:Judo throw her ass Segata Sanshiro style.
It's the PSP in this one, but this screenshot just always makes me sad, so I wanted to share it
>>6158629The typical narrative seems to be:“SFamicom outsold the MegaDrive. So the Japs hate SEGA, the system sucks. SNES ftw!!!”But if you really think about it, it’s more like “SEGA and NEC steal market share away from Nintendo’s onetime 100 percent control of the Japanese market”. People did indeed have the MegaDrive and enjoyed it.
>>6158629>how unpopular it was thereIs this true actually? Hasn't SEGA always been fucking big in Japan?
>>6166286No, don’t believe these sorry ass SEGA fanboys. If you ask the average Japanese person what SEGA is they’d have NO idea what you’re taking about. SEGA at its peak was just a handful of programmers in an apartment in Osaka. They hardly exist today, just a PO Box and a disconnected phone number.
>>6166286wasn't that big compared to USA and Europoors sales.
>>6165709>flashlight gamegears>run out of power in 1 hrit's stoopig.
>>6166294I find it funny how Sega is lowkey still making a shitton of money while everyone thinks it's dead. Also I've heard that the Yakuza series is like soap opera to Japs, literally everyone and their dog buy every installment as soon as it comes out
>>6166305They also have the license to make Hatsune Miku games, which also sell like hot cakes in Japan. In the west, Sega also releases the Football Manager "games", which many Europeans buy religiously too.
>>6155891This hentai continues on to show a super mario world parody if you track down the source, Rei Rei episode 2.
>>6165184the perspective here is all kinds of fucked
>>6166286The Saturn was successful there, but the MegaDrive was way more popular in the USA, and Europe (mostly UK), and Brazil. In the USA Genesis had 52% market share there. In Japan SEGA is more known for their arcades and Hatsune Miku and the Yakuza games. Going software only multi platform was actually a really good outcome for SEGA in the end. Now their games can be enjoyed by more people and aren’t trapped on their hardware.
>>6167150I recently saw a little girl (10 years or so) wearing a t-shirt with this image.
>>6155371>>6155373Otaku are PC-FX fan
>>6157957N64DD (Jaz Disk or 1GB GD-rom) actually Konami & other gaming community wet dream.
>>6167119PCE only successful there before Saturn shipping. Super NES outsold GEN in the USA
>>6164573Doesn't excuse ignorance
>>6165714Should have got a PFP instead.
>>6167119>aren’t trapped on their hardwareNot too long ago all of their games like Yakuza, Hatsune Miku and Persona were Sony exclusives

>>6165714adhoc bomber man and metal gear portable ops was a blast
>>6167863I bet, nigger
>>6155371>Puyo Puyo x Evangelion crossoverHow did I not notice this before what the fuck
The reason why they promoted the Saturn in Evangelion is because Sega was the very first sponsor Evangelion got. The EVA designs were too weird and companies like Bandai weren't sure if they would sell. Sega was the first company that invested in releasing toys, the very first Eva action figures that existed. Companies like Bandai and Kaiyodo jumped ship later when Eva was proven a hit.The very first Eva video game was also released exclusively on Saturn.
Best console of the Shogunate.
>>6168016>not using it as an oscillosope

>>6168315It's a small establishing shot in the episode where Shinji and Auska kiss, it's really easy to miss.
>>6170080It's episode 22, or 23.Shinji and Asuka kiss is episode 15.
>>6170093My bad, it was the episode where they almost kiss, 09 (18 if you count each half separately),
>>6170101>18 if you count each half separatelySomeone does this?Anyway, the episdoe where Asuka is playing Saturn (OP's screenshot) comes later, as I said, either 22 or 23.
>>6170107Ah, so it is.
Weird how there's only 1 Nyaruko screenshot
>>6168324And I can't help but feel that kind of product placement in the show didn't feel cynic. It was not distracting, and helped give a sense of realism and familiarity by including real life items with such strong pressence as a console (by pressence I mean, all the underlying sensations associated with it, like someone knowing it from playing games there or some younger one recognizing it from some older relative or magazine).
>>6158629The Mega Drive was popular enough to have at least two magazines (Beep! Mega Drive and Mega Drive Fan) dedicated to covering it.

>>6155408Kek! Holy Shit! I hope that anime is all about the Rei clone destroying Saturns and beating the shit out of the HODL hoarder fags and destroying their 50 copies of Panzer Dragon Saga.
>>6181818It was because the 2nd impact occurred in 2000 just before the PS2 was out, and since Japan didn't care about the Dreamcast that, the most popular console would've probably be the Saturn or PS1, so it wouldn't be wrong to assume Hikari (best girl) would have a Saturn in her house. Obviously, it's because of the Sega endorsement in the anime, but I prefer my head canon more.
