Last I checked, the only "competitive" SSB is all fast characters, no items, final destination. It used to be a joke, now it's the norm for it's disgusting competitive scene. SSB is the best fighting game series I have ever played. I love how movement and timing are parts of the game, instead of two people circling each other and a bunch of combos.

I "insist" of playing the game because I love it and I find it very fun. I think the randomness items provide deprive me a bit of the fun, so I play without them. No big deal.
