There is no full re-translation anywhere that I know of. There is a site/blog out there that’s pretty easy to google (do like “xenogears study guide”) which goes over some of the most glaring stuff which surprisingly was often handled fairly well given the circumstances, like cultural barriers.

The biggest casualties were actually the names of people and menu text, for things like skills. But many of these simply don’t work or are absolutely off-putting in English. Alice is technically supposed to be fucking “Aruru” for example. But then there’s like, Stone’s gear “Alkanshel,” where they steered right into the katakana... it’s a play on words, the gear’s name is “Archangel,” but they tried to flair it up by spelling it the same way as how the Japanese spell “arc-en-ciel.”

In general, Xenogears actually suffered far less than many contemporaries. Doing my own rework of the script is on my to-do list (I don’t want to actually mod the game, just do a quick barebones text doc). If you have a question about something particular in the game I can try to answer it at some point tomorrow.
