It's completely comparable to encountering a Tauros at the same stage of game. It's a single-stager with the expected stat levels of a fully evolved, endgame-viable Pokemon and the first time you face it in the game.

It's like facing Misty's Starmie, but even earlier in the level progression.

These first-person segments on SNES' Jurassic Park were too much for me as a kid. I rented it once when I was like 10 or 11 and I couldn't play it I was so scared.
My dad said "go ahead, it won't hurt you in real life" then I got a bit more corageous but gave up a few hours later.

There were kind of similar scenarios in Jurassic Park for 3DO. First person, in a maze with narrow corridors, trying to locate keys and escape. There would be a raptor or two in the maze as well, and they always knew where you were and would slowly make their way toward you. The only indication you had of how close they were was a heartbeat that you could hear. It would get faster the closer they got. So if I couldn't see them but the heartbeat started going faster, I'd start getting stressed out.

First time I saw this was on the N64 version, I was about 10 years old or so. I remember very calmly setting the controller down, turning the game off, and going outside. I didn't play it again until years later.

At least that stage has checkpoints and 1-ups. THIS utter bullshit requires near perfection from start to finish with no time to blink.
