>Most Memorable
same as OP
>Best
Probably Legend of Zelda. Less memorable because I had already played and beaten it so many times as a rental.

I was going to say it was a three-way tie between SNES+Super Mario World, Genesis+Sonic 2 or N64+Ocarina of Time, but the more I think about it, OoT wins. It was particularly memorable because I hadn't even asked for an N64 that year. I had asked in 96 and 97, but my mom had flat out denied me. She decided to surprise me in 1998 and it was excellent. She even got me Ocarina of Time without me clamoring for it because she knew how much I liked Zelda games.

I also got my first CD that year, which was a "Best of James Bond" collection. I have vivid memories of tearing ass through the Deku Tree while listening to John Barry's Bond theme. And that fucking EXTREME GREEN controller my first N64 came with. All of this stuff just triggers an instant total recall of Christmas of '98, for me.

The first 64 game I ever owned actually, I asked for this instead of Goldeneye for some reason. I'm sure some of you remember our Canadian snowboarder had just won the first gold medal ever and promptly had it taken away after testing positive for weed and then eventually given back to him lol.
A memorable olympics anyway but a pretty mediocre game. Not long after I ended up trading it with the N64 for a playstation and not looking back.

I somehow lost or broke my SNES and my teenaged cousin bought me another unannounced. Nicest thing she ever did for me, a true selfless charity.

lol, this doesn't even make sense. I feel like having any amount of THC in your system would be more of a hindrance than a help. Fuckin' "war on drugs" was such bullshit.

Looking back on it, it's more impressive to me since we were dirt poor and yet Mario 3 was obtained brand new so close to launch. I remember probably annoying my parents when I asked how did Santa make video games at the North Pole

definitely Donkey Kong Country in 94. I still rememeber launching the game for the first time and being completely blown away by the graphics. i still replay it from time to time, a true timeless classic.

Too young to have gotten anything /vr/ for Christmas, but around Christmas 2005 I started collecting for the NES. I got my dad Tetris and Blades of Steel as birthday gifts as his is on the 21st of December. He fuckin' loves those games.

Pokémon Gold for my xmas 2000.
I was so happy, after my disapointment on having only socks and underwears as gifts...
The box was camouflaged insed of a bag full of socks. When I spotted it, I gasped, teared the wrap and screammed with joy. I ran around my whole home shouting "hurrays".
Too bad I couldn't play that much at the day, since there were thunderstorms.
Oh, I played on my SNES, BTW.

The sega cd system with fmv games. I really wanted it and I was not expecting to get it. My parents did a ala “Christmas story” I think there’s a present behind the tree. I was really touch that I got it. After, that Xmas, I always wanted to get my love ones (gf and family) the one present they wanted that year. Okay, enough being a pussy. End of transmission
