Got the collection to show Square Enix we need more old games like this localized. Very comfy game so far, about 4 hours in with Duran, Angela and Kevin. I'm not entirely following the story desu, but the combat is fun but I'd like some tips on it.

Don't spam magic spells. Later on, some bosses will have counter magic that hurts like hell. Also, there is no 'scan' like spell for identifying elemental weaknesses and the like. Sometimes its obvious, but other times you might have to guess.

Seriously, don't spam magic in this game. The way it works in this game is that if someone fires off a spell or skill while another spell is being "charged", the "charging" spell will immediately go off. Worst case scenario, you wind up causing a chain of spells to fire off, resulting in you getting thrown into the grinder. Thanks, triple golems.

I should note that my explanation may or may not be off.

Oh, oh!! And OP!!

There’s a glitch in the game that effects Duran’s shields and their elemental defenses. The short of it is— they don’t work as described. So don’t waste you monies on upgrading or changing them much.

Also, I think the critical hit stat is bugged as well, IIRC. So you and your party will never EVER land crits properly.

There may be s’more stuff, too. Look up Seiken Densetsu 3 bugs on gameFAQs or something.

When the remake rolls around, assuming they don't fuck up like with Secret, it will feel almost wrong to not have all the glitches after so many years with the fan translation.
