Your opinion on Pokemon Snap?

Fun game.

Too damn short. I beat it the first time I played it in a few hours.

It was fun, I'm kind of surprised it never got a sequel on Wii U. I still keep Pokemon Go on my phone to occasionally take pictures though.

>> No.6061581

Fun game with a fantastic concept and the levels that are there are full of secrets and soul. All of the Pokemon are lively and interacting with eachother and shit and it's such a good time.

Super short when you know what to do but there's a lot of optional things in the earlier levels when you replay them with stuff from later that adds more game time and fun in exploring options. Anyone who used a guide missed the point of the game and ruined it for themselves.

Would have loved a sequel that had more content and built on the already strong basis but that would have taken effort.

One of the most original rail-shooters. The game is short, and it's a shame that only 63 or so monsters out of 151 are in it, but the game is so full of detail and interactivity that it's excusable. I'd rather a good game like this, albeit short, than a crappy one with more levels and all monsters but no substance.
Also, to really make the most out of this game you have to play for score, try beating the default hi-scores on each level. It forces you to use all of your 60 shots, and you have to be careful to get good shots in every single one AND also have variety and special shots. You have to learn the whole level and know exactly what to do at each given situation to be able to beat the default hi-scores.
Competing for score with other humans is also fun, if you're able to.

I was so fucking disappointed with that piece of shit game when it came out. All I wanted was a real 3D pokemon game, and instead I got some dogshit rail shooter.

It was my first case of buyer's remorse, wasting my allowance on that awful, awful rental.

Really fun, if a bit too short and limited in scope. There's a reason people have been clamoring for a sequel for ages, as you could really do more with the idea.

However, the scoring system is jank as hell and sometimes really inconsistent. Shots that look great will get terrible scores due to oddly specific requirements, and then they don't always act the same.

I still remember going to blockbuster to print out stamp-sized, low quality stickers of my pictures and doing nothing with them. I believe I was in High School at this time and already had no social life, so being seen in public doing this didn't bother me.

>> No.6061671

Fun game. Needs a longer sequel. I feel like it's almost too late for that though.

>Kids these days don't like taking pictures

Meanwhile there are probably trillions of amateur photographs of random animals all over the internet because everyone has an HD camera in their pocket at all times.

I think that's the point. There's no novelty in taking pictures in a game world when you can just do it in real life.

Yes BotW let you take pics but it was not the core of the game.

Well Pokemon snap was also more about taking pictures. It had puzzle and aiming elements. It would have been a perfect WiiU game back in the day with waggle controls and that big dumb paddle. You can make it about discovery no longer on rails. Doing things like running away from hostile pokemon trying to figure out how to get a good picture of its babies. Having fun walking around and feeding wild pokemon, unlocking secrets, figuring out how to unlock new areas The potential scenarios is practically endless. Nintendo lazy as fuck when it comes to pokemon. They released several random minimum effort trash pokemon spin-off games on the Wii. Pokemon snap's budget couldn't have been so massive as to refuse making a new one ever again with how low effort all their other games are.

It's still a fantasy game that lets you do things you can't in real life, such as flying around underground caves with mythical monsters.
Driving cars is also trivial, but there's racing games, right?
You can pick up a fight on the streets with some junkies, but it's more fun to throw hadoukens on Street Fighter, etc.

One of the best games in the Pokemon franchise. It's not a hidden gem because most know of it's existence. But the way they made the world's and how each Pokemon fit into the settings, secret puzzles that began to unlock as you went through the game for alternative paths or secret Pokemon shots. It had a lot of replay value. I always hoped we would get a sequel even on the WII-U or Wii. But like Hey You Pikachu it never happened.

Pokemon Channel is just you sitting there with Pokemon and watching TV. The rest required some effort and had more interactivity.

I like this game and not even because of Pokemon.
I wish there was a Snap-like game but with a realistic setting.
And no, Afrika on PS3 sucks.
