So im playing this game, things are going alright, and all of a fucking sudden my character is losing 1 HP per second. Status says normal, none of the cure potions work, what the fuck am i supposed to do? Hes lost like 500 health and it wont stop.
Also just discuss the game if you wish. Its been okay so far, but its kind of buggy and has no music for some damn reason.

Either you're standing on some sort of damage floor/gas, or you're wearing cursed equipment. Cursed equipment is actually pretty powerful, but it makes the game darker and eventually starts killing you.

The cure for this is not any sort of item, but rather, you must balance the Dark with the Light. So find like, a blessed bracelet or diadem or something. I recommend checking for secret areas and try to get the rare monsters to drop them. Off the top of my head I know there's a worm in the mines area that has a good chance of dropping a blessed crown that would help you out, but it's in the middle of one of the confusing branching areas with pits that you jump down.

I dunno but shadow tower is a terrible game in my opinion. How are you finding it?

Shadow Tower is basically another Kings Field game by Fromsofware. The gods of cryptic, punishing, dungeon crawlers. If you don't like it then you should stop gaming and try to discover where you went wrong in life.

It's literally an immortal masterpiece of game design.

>> No.6059738

Turned out it was because my equipment load was over maximum. Well of course, carrying too much drains your health, it doesn't just make you slower or pop up a notification or anything. Fuckin hate it when these games give you no indication of what the problem is, its about as fun as having to troubleshoot my PC...

They are the best and hold up well in the gameplay dept. Yeah, it's early console 3d but thats the worst thing I can say. This game along with the KF games are the foundation of Souls. Any Souls player who hasn't played these games is illegitimate and should hide in shame

You're terrible and not very good

>start the game above a bottomless pit
>have to get stupidly close to an enemy to deal damage, even closer than in KF2
>spiders jump faster than you can attack
>if you die you have to literally start from a brand new game, not even the courtesy of starting from the pit
Thank fuck they got better with Dark Souls because the "punishing" aspect of this game is just outright bullshit.

KF2 has a good balance given the limits at the time. Shadow Tower already feels like a step back.

I played a good chunk of KF1, completed KF 2, and played a few hours of 3 and 4 each. While they're ambitious attempts at bringing the dungeon crawling experience to consoles, I wouldn't say they held up as well as even some of the earliest blobbers.

amazing that you can make it through life without being able to master a single (one) dimension of movement and some basic timing

>> No.6061046

I remember some enemies can drain your HP if you're close enough to them, but that is much faster than 1 HP per second (those long tongue demons in the human world drain like 100 points per second), so what >>6058710 says sounds much more likely.
>>6058815
That was my first reaction when I realized how the game was meant to be controlled, but as soon as you get used to circle-strafing with the D-Pad and the shoulder buttons, it becomes easily playable.

>> No.6061075

I don't remember it being particularly hard, just a bit obtuse with stuff like the succubus and the dwarf. the only hard enemies are the ones that fight with explosions, since they end up breaking your gear, but by the last third you regen so fast you can repair for basically nothing
also, the final boss is ridiculously easy
all in all, better than abyss

King's Field is boring unless you speed it up to at least 1.5x
