So, is Kirby a copy of this game, or not?

>> No.6058293

Extremely doubtful. Both games would have been in development at the same time, Gimmick just reached the finish line first by mere months.

桜井政博[7]は本作を絶賛しており、自身がディレクションを手がけ本作と同年に発売された『星のカービィ』と比較して「パーフェクトに負けた」と舌を巻いている[8]。

How is Kirby anything like Gimmick? Other than them both being cute platformers everything else is different.

Kirby was originally going to be a Lovecraftian monster and the enemies were going to be humans with guns and stuff, but PAL saw an early version of Mr Gimmick and decided to rip it off, aesthetically

I'm sorry, I can't read German.

Aesthetically yes obviously, mechanically no

Eat shit, the aesthetics aren't that similar, you just have your ass in a twist because a common enemy in Gimmick looks a lot like an enemy in Kirby 64.

>>6058589
Is this some weird form of trolling? They could hardly be more similar.

I think the More mportant question is how Kirby became so popular became so popular with K games being made to this day while my boy Gimmick got relegated to the dregs of history? They couldn't have ported it to SNES?

Kirby is easy/accessible and the copy ability is more fun than people give it credit for.

Gimmick actually getting a North American release would have helped. Without that, even the greatest of games becomes a literally who title.

You know if this game was popular and had a legacy you wouldn't give a shit about it

Sakurai said Gimmick is better than Kirby.

Why did Sunsoft release this and Uforia only in Europe and Japan is beyond me.

>> No.6059172

>>6058932
Sunsoft didn't really follow through with their games becoming series. Like Trip World is a different game than being Gimmick 2.

I think Kirby was more inspired by Bio Miracle Bokutte Upa since they are both baby easy games made for girls. Gimmick is balls difficult and turns boys into men.
