What? It's basically the original with GC graphics and MGS2: Tanker animations. The only issue anyone might have with the game are the over-the-top matrix style cutscenes, which I kinda liked.

I put it to you that if you dislike this game that much you probably didn't like the original to begin with.

The only real negatives here are the Ocelot boss fight and jeep chase at the end being rendered kindergarten-baby-games-easy by the first person camera mode. Other than that it's pretty solid, unless Grey Fox going ULTRA CUHRAYZEE during cutscenes is a dealbreaker for you.

Honestly I was having trouble thinking of a bad remake. Most just improve the graphics, make minor changes and add stuff. Though I bet the new FF7 is gonna be shitty.

P3P stood out to me because it was a release of the game that took away 75% of the 3D modeled environments and replaced them with non-animated 2D sprites. Adding a pointless girl mode and only a few new personas.

It was certainly a more of a reworking than just a simple "port" of Persona 3/Persona 3:FES, no matter what Wikipedia says.

Dude, do you even remember the original? You could win that thing in seconds adding first person shooting (which I'm assuming is your point) didn't make it that much easier.

The original let you go first person when you're on the heavy machine gun at the end. The chase was never "hard".

Mario 64 DS is pretty fucking bad. Most of the appeal of the original was the controls and incredibly nuanced/fluid movement, so obviously Nintendo decided to make it with a d pad and tie all momentum to a run button.

Mario 64 DS has analog controls tied to the touch screen. With the proper emulation setup, you can play it with an actual controller.
It wins on content alone, but the graphics are a massive downgrade.
