6023402 No.6023402 [Reply] [Original]

Well, about 2 years ago I decided to reset all games that were released for gba (about 15000), because I was unemployed I had a lot of free time and I got it.
I believe I was one of the only ones who wasted so much time of life for such a pointless purpose. So I would like to know, which console did you play the most varied games? And of course, if anyone had the same idea to play all games from any console like me?

Friend, did you actually play fifteen thousand games to completion?

For me it was Genesis. In the 16 bit era I preferred Genesis already for some reason and already had more games for it than SNES. But in 1999 or so I found a Nomad in a pawn shop and then started buying up just about every random Genesis cart I came across. Back then an expensive one was like $15 and most were like $5 and I had a cushy security job that basically let me play games all night. I got into games I never otherwise would have like scrolling shooters and really enjoyed some of them. It was good times.

Considering there are RPGs that last 50+ hours and batteries are not cheap, I have a hard time believing this. Especially if you were unemployed. How’d you purchase $100s if not $1000s worth of batteries with no job?

Not OP but one of the things I got with my GBA back when it came out was a wall plug thing that fit into the battery pack of it. Anytime I was home/library or wherever with a wall plug that’s what I used.

Flashcart with the real roms count.

>> No.6023992

>>6023896
Oh dang, that sucks for me then. Because I did the same thing, but it turns out at the end that I had fake ROMs.

Everything else was legit. I played everything on an original gba. I used original batteries. I made sure the case the batteries came from was original and not a Duracell repro battery case from China (damn chinks just don't understand the SOUL in original Duracell cardboard battery packs).

But it turns out the 100,000 games I played were all ROM files! So now nothing counts, I didn't actually beat any of those games because the copies of the games I played weren't Authentic 100% Legit Nintendo Approved (TM) copies. Dang it!

>zoomer who doesn't know what rom means
Cartridges contain a read only memory, which means it just contains the exact data, and there's not a single difference between a dumped rom you got online, when you put it in a flashcart, or if it's in the original published cartridges.

The lone outliers would be save batteries and special hardware added to cartridges, like SuperFX chips or tilt stuff, most of which can be accounted for with emulation.
