ITT: shitty ports you enjoy

I'd rather play this over the original any day, i can't stand the zoom feature, it looks ugly and feels weird.

Not actually shitty: TMNT the Arcade Game for the NES. Has little to do with the original but it's a great game on its own merits

Definitely shitty but I like it: Ghouls n Ghosts for SMS. The reduced difficulty and new armor upgrade system make for a pretty comfy experience

SNES version of Art of Fighting had infinitely better music than the Arcade version too

I prefer Mega Man 64 over the PS1 original mostly because I played it first and because I just prefer the N64 controller
Also I own 64 while I don't care to shell out the $50 or whatever to get the marginally superior PS1 version

How is the PS1 version superior? I never played the N64 version

>graphics are overall sharper on PS1 partially because N64 just had built in anti aliasing
>voice audio is a bit muffled so it'll all fit in the cartridge
>game looks a bit darker overall especially in regards to zenny
>no sound test
N64 isn't exactly a trash port but it is a downgrade

I always play arcade ports for consoles instead of the arcade originals because MAME is such a pain in the ass (so is Retroarch with the MAME/FBA cores)

This piece of shit. The game plays the same song every match and it gets laggy at times.

I loved Samurai Spirits on the GameBoy. Chibi SNK fighters are great

Hyperstone Heist lacks some things from the Arcade and SNES versions of Turtles in Time, but it's still a very fun port. The gameplay feels a bit more faster and the music sounds pretty good with the Sega Genesis soundchip.

For some reason Brazilians love this shitty port and to this day believe it to be a Playstation classic.

What? The main difference between the arcade original and the NES port is the NES port adds two levels. Other than that, it's just different on graphics and sound since NES hardware.

My choice is Wonderboy in Monster Land on the SMS. It's subpar compared to the arcade original, or even the PC-Engine reskin. I like it better since the bosses aren't as brutal, even if the PC-Engine version lets you grind up money/magic.

South Park on PS1
EWJ 1 and 2 on SNES

NBA Jam on the Genesis
What it lacks in graphics and sound, it makes up for with soul

Well that and the fact that it plays complely differently

EWJ2 on SNES is on par, if not better, than the Genesis version, unlike what happened with EWJ1.

I find AoF to be crap but I could try that.

PS2 Half Life and console strategy games. Every PCtard seethes about it but I like them, and they usually play quite well.
