I had Doom with my first computer. Got Chex Quest by begging my mom to buy me a box (Still eat it to this day, so bravo chex). Never put two and two together to realize Chex Quest was a Doom mod.

The enemy variation was lacking in it, but it's still a legitimately good game.

Funny how those bag cereals are becoming a name brand all their own. Malt-O-Meal is basically as expensive (not really) as the box counterparts and many ways better quality.

Even so, Chex is one of two box cereals I only buy. Other being cinnamon toast crunch.

>> No.601962

I still don't know why exactly they picked Doom of all games to modify to create a children's video game bundled in a cereal.

Not that the game wasn't fucking awesome and a completely new genre to most people as a result and all but certainly confusing.

We buy bags of fruity dino bites (basically Fruity Pebbles) and some cinnamon toast crunch look-alike.

They're pretty tasty, although I never bothered to check the nutritional content on any cereal.

We still buy boxes of Cheerios and Honey Bunches of Oats.

Malt-O-Meal's Lucky Charms are better, I find. Can't ever find their Corn Pops, though.

I know what you mean, I decided to start trying them after actually noticing the prices for cereals (usually I never see both box cereals and malt-o-meals together in stores), and I dnon't see why you'd buy many box cereals when there's bags that are cheaper and just as good, not to mention that they produce less waste when you toss em.

>The skins for the more difficult enemies from Doom have not been converted as these enemies were not employed in Chex Quest levels, but rather the skins have been removed entirely[19] in order to tone down Doom's hellish imagery. This introduces an additional experience for those playing the "leftover levels" as these difficult enemies still exist in a completely invisible form. This also goes for items like the partial invisibility, berserker pack, light amp goggles, and all skull keycards.
