What are your preferred branching paths for Metal Slug 3, /vr/?

Also shoot 'n scoots general, whether they be sidescrolling like Contra or top-down like Outzone.

They're all pointless since last level is half the game. Take the speedrun route to speed things up a bit, I guess.

I play metal slug to aim for a 1CC, I don't care about score, so I normally choose the easier routes. Boat in mission 1, skip the ice cave, skip the hatch. I do enjoy the hatch route though.

The NES port of Guerilla War's surprisingly decent, would even go as far as to call it one of the best run n guns on the system. Still need to play the arcade game, couldn't be bothered setting up the controls when I tried it.
