I've still got my case and manual, but my disc went missing like ten years ago when my first Saturn died. Wish I still had it. Exploring that 3D world was really fun, and all that Sonic content was fun to look at.

>> No.597874

having all them classic Sonics with all the custom options and time trials sure is good, also feels miles better than playing the ROMs on the mega collection.
The extras are pure gold, and the sonic world hubworld and its minigames are a good tech demo to demonstrate how a Saturn sonic could be.
I personally liked it, even more than the Adventure controls.

Best compilation game I've ever played, but i'm biased, it was the first game i was ever truly addicted to.

Wrong. Sonic Jam with Sonic CD on the disc too.

Right in the feels
I would spend so much time just fucking around in the Museum and Theater that it wasn't even funny.
I was fucking obsessed about that sonic movie trailer, I would watch it over and over and always go looking for it in stores' VHS sections, but I don't think it ever got here.

>> No.597948

>>597932

It did, ADV released it on VHS and DVD too.

Actually, it's not a movie but 2 OVA episodes, but it was released here with the 2 episodes together.
Check it out because it's really solid Sonic animation, the best out there. There are annoying human characters that will piss you off, but the Sonic VS Metal Sonic battle scene makes up for it all.

Good lick finding the DVD for a reasonable price. It's still $60-100 everywhere I've looked despite having two print runs.

I just downloaded it, easy to find

also, this video in sonic jam is very curious, was never released anywhere else and its purpose is unknown, must be some pilot thing. looks like the animators are the same ones as tiny toon/animaniacs

Well I'm not from the States you know, these things rarely got here.
I did watch it a few years ago thanks to the magical world of torrents. It was a good movie considering the source material, but honestly I just didn't care anymore for fucking Sonic. Really sad because as a kid I really wanted to watch it and couldn't, and watching it now I know I would have loved back then. But such is life.

>> No.598045

>>597995
My god I remember that!! Why the fuck didn't they make that into a series, I used to watch that shit over and over again in the museum as a kid.

>> No.598052

I'm not from the states either, and anyway the movie was released in little quantities, I believe it had to be ordeed by mail only at some point.
I just watched it some years ago too, and I feel exactly the same about it, I would have loved it as a kid, now I just watch it and think how awesome it would have been to watch it as a kid, but yeah life is unfair sometimes.

Anyway, metal sonic fight is still awesome. You just have to go through a shitty plot that makes no sense, but the animation makes it enjoyable (was made by the same studio that did the sonic CD intro/ending)

Ignorance is bliss is what I can tell you. As a kid I had no problems, but later after I found out how slow it runs compared to the NTSC one I could never go back, I just have to emulate it.

It's great. It's one of those games that's incredibly unique, not a game like it before, and not a game like it after. It does a lot of interesting things, so it seems to be a love it or hate it type of thing for some people.

Started my Saturn recently and bought a Japanese copy of Sonic Jam for $20ish with spine card and disc in great condition for the disc. Beats paying the upwards of $60 for the NTSC-U release. Game is completely playable in English.
