you guys need to play Survival Kids/Stranded Kids. It's a Konami game that inspired their Lost in Blue series but it's way more emotionally investing because they're children and it's in 8 bit glory.

I played it. First one was good. Second one I got like one ending and then had no idea who to proceed and eventually got bored and stopped playing

I actually saw the first one in a Nintendo Power Magazine and become obsessed with it. I wanted to play it so bad. I read the article like everyday for a week, just imaging this awesome game

Played it about 2 years. It was okay. Something about GBC RPGs are so mystical. Pokémon, TCG, Legend is the River King

If I liked Lost in Blue should I check out Survival Kids or are they totally different?

its pretty much night and day
i played SK first and wasn't fond with the DS games
the Wii one looks insultingly cheap tho, didn't bother with that one

So totally different kinds of games? Sell me on SK? What makes it better?

you play as a little kid stranded on an island on his/her birthday who may go somewhere great or die a horrible death trying with a cutscene for all endings. It all depends on your surviving choices basically.

I wanted this game so bad as a kid — I remember choosing between it, Links Awakening, and FF Adventure. I first went with LA and of course had a blast. Then picked up FFA and absolutely loved it until I got stuck on the damn figure 8 palm tree bs. Then finally one day got Survival Kids and it lived up to my hype.

It is really difficult though, be prepared to invest time dieing and starting over for a while until you figure out the mechanics and map. Such a charming game.

Love this game, both GBC versions.

When I first played this game and lost my guy it made me to cry a bit.

From looking inside of the tile data, it seems that the second game has a shit-ton of either hard to discover or unavailable items.

Anyone need help in the game?

Sounds like LIB.

The second game begins completely different though:

You, a sibling (big/small brother) and your brother are on their way to camping until suddenly a woman with a huge ass called Kiri tells you about a treasure island, steals your grandpa's wartime map and kidnaps you both in a helicopter.

From there you could either obey your kidnappers and be taken into a prison or to resist and be thrown into the ocean.

Keep in mind that this game is in Japanese.
though there is an English patch out there available which I use.

>inspired their Lost in Blue series
Survival Kids is the Japanese name for the whole series, including the games known as Lost in Blue in the West.
