Love the sprite work in this one. Great use of pre-rendered sprites and the drawn ones kinda remind me of Earthbound if it was on hardware that could actually move everything around at full speed when things got crowded. Not all that difficult or deep but super unique and fun.

also import PSX general, I'm trying to find some new weird shit to play

Wow, that Iblard game looks great, I'll have to try it out soon.

Gave this a spin for the first time last night, lives up to the hype. Besides the beat-em-up mechanics feeling really nice, it looks awesome and the anime fmv intro/soundtrack really light up the 90's weeb nostalgia part of my brain.

Why are weebs always so aggro about the idea that people might not be as invested as they are in learning an entire 2nd language for the sole purpose of watching anime and play untranslated loli rape sims?

I enjoyed that arcade conversion on the Saturn. Back then if a game in Japan debuts on multiple platforms, Sony required the Playstation version to have exclusive features. So, look into the Playstation version of Soukyugurentai,as it has an exclusive 4th ship.

If you're looking for weird, there's always LSD and Pepsiman which are obvious. I will suggest Tokimeki Memorial, as it is a dating game with ugly characters. The game kept Konami afloat long enough to come back with MGS and CV.

What the fuck man I see you all over this board and once again you have me jealous. Just picked up some more train simulators for the ps2. My want list right now is Umihara Kawase shun, Cyberbots, Brightis, Cho Aniki, Twighlight Syndrome Special, and the Tsurido fishing games without spending an arm and a leg. If I'm patient, I'll know they'll pop up for the right price. Here's a sample of the 20ish imports I have now.

Also, what the fuck was Enix thinking in the 90's? they were releasing such strange games title after title.

It is basically the same thing as the SFC game but even slower because it has extensive voice acting.

Why when I don’t play JRPGs? The story in your average arcadey title is inconsequential.

I do like Tecmo fighting games. I didn't have any idea if I'd like it when I picked that one up, but I am glad I did.

>>5971729
The unopened game there is Mezase! Senkyuuoh. I didn't open that one because a local arcade had that game on freeplay, and I got a different edition opened. Rakugaki Showtime is opened, but since the tear was so clean from the strip, it was easy to slide back in to prevent scratches.

Hey guys can i ask a question?
I went to japan and got some sweet imports mint quality, but during the trip the damn jewel cases cracked, i was so bummed about it because they used to look like new.
What do you think, cracked cases are a big deal in ps1 import collecting, or it doesnt even matter?

It's ultimately up to you. If your willing to spend money just buy some cheap games with nice cases to your house. then swap. However, If they are just scratches and not actually cracked, use this stuff. Works like a charm.

Last thing, If you have the games are in the standard sized jewel cases (Like ntsc u games) and not in the fat cases (like pal games) Then you can buy new cases of ebay.

That differs from person to person. While I do think it is a bummer when cases are cracked due to their brittle nature. All man-made items break, the cracks will significantly hurt resale back to Japanese sellers, but if your intentions are not to resell, it shouldn't matter much.

If you really care about the looks, the earlier larger non-standard Playstation cases (like Gunner's Heaven in first pic) and later slightly wider multidisc Playstation cases (Strider 2 in 2nd pic) are unique so maybe a visit to the junk bins for replacement cases is worth a look. Also note that the Playstation games in standard sized jewel cases has tabs for the corners of instruction manuals, so when you replace those, note all Japanese releases has those tabs, and I have seen replacement cases may not have them.
