Want to play Phantasy Star Online with other anons? It's stupid simple, so gear up and get ready.
We're all going to be on the same server, and Ephinea has an extremely good repuation.

>HOW TO REGISTER

>Step 1
Register a new account and download the main client from https://ephinea.pioneer2.net.. Make sure to catch any false flags from your antivirus from the installation.
>Step 2
Create your character and name. Character names can't be tied to your account, can be changed any time, and multiples of the same name can exist on the same server. Anon approved!
>Step 3
Go to the main desk, and either join or create a party with "Retro" or "/vr/" in the name. Get creative! Make sure the password this time is always "vr"! This will likely change for the next thread.

After that, you're good to go! Leave your character names below if you like so we can find each other more easily. A /vr/ team has been created, so if you meet someone in that team (more likely than you think), make sure to get an invite. Team chat ingame is a thing, so we don't need anything external.

>OTHER USEFUL INFORMATION

Check out this site for guides. Not everything is up to date, but nearly everything is still useful to some extent.

Ephinea has different server commands you can use! Check it out. There's also an FAQ on the main site for more information specifically about Ephinea and troubleshooting. Finally, here's a list of drop charts for all difficulties.

Looking forward to seeing you out there!

How come no weebs allowed on a weeb game?

>> No.5959418

how exactly does challenge mode work? can you save your progress in it? can you do the different areas whenever you want to try and speedrun them? i see some speedrun videos on youtube and i think it'd be cool to get a party together to try and get good times (or just complete it lol) but do you only get one chance at each area per "run"?

I think challenge mode works with a lives system. A certain amount of deaths on your team and it's all over. I'm not sure, I haven't ever had the pleasure, myself.

Not OP but PSO isn't weeb. Saying that everything Japanese is weeb is just ignorant.

I really liked playing phantasy star portable 2. How does this game plays compared to that?

Dude, I just signed up the other day after reading through my Book of Hunters. This server is top notch and I am having a hell of a time.

Pro tip: there is a npc outside the shop asking you to gamble meseta for items. I gambled 1000 and got a Tablet mag cell.

Have any of you tried Destiny PSO? It basically sounds like PSO 1.5 and the new weapons look cool.

Can someone explain the Maser Beam to me? You can only get it on Ult but the damage sucks dick. It's been grinded to Max and I took it to get stat boosts but it's horrible. I'm assuming that there's some secret power behind it or something.

>> No.5965631

>>5965526
A lot of Ult drops are like that, PSO is just poorly balanced in that regard.

>> No.5965689

>>5965526
it's a weapon that does magic damage so it doesn't require any hit and is boosted by the same equipment that boosts gizonde damage, however since it takes up the weapon slot and can only be equipped by rangers so it can't benefit from the majority of tech boosting options.

>> No.5965818

>>5965631
That sucks
>>5965689
I don't understand. Are you saying that there is a way to make rare useless weapons like these effective & worthy>>5965689
?

>> No.5965839

>>5965818
the maser beam can be turned into the power maser that can hit 10 dudes or potentially a boss that has 10 targetable things on it, which for low levels is quite acceptable.

What I was saying is that if a force could use it they could use technique boosting gear to make it into something usable in very hard and ultimate but they can't.

I love PSO, but I actually played more PSPo2i than PSO. In fact, heinous though it may sound, I think PSPo2i is somewhat better than PSO. But they're both very good games. Bear in mind I said PSPo2i (the "Infinity" version) and NOT PSPo2; the latter has rubbish balance. You literally cannot play Force well in PSPo2.
