I thought this game was supposed to be hard? You can beat it in an hour and kill all the bosses in one hit

I think my best times are around 20-25 minutes. It's really easy once you understand how the mechanics work. Keep moving forward so as to not let enemies respawn and keep up that momentum. A lot of people die to easy parts because they hesitate and let a machine gun guy for example keep respawning and knocking them back. Just go balls to the wall like a real ninja would.

And how long did you practice to be able to do that? ;)

This is basically it. If you play like taco bell food moving through intestines it's pretty simple. But if course you have to play through "normally" to learn the levels, enemies etc which is where the challenge comes from.
Twirly slash breaks the game.

And how long did it take you to get to that point? If you say anything but months you are a liar.

That's... basically my point, yes

Ok. For me I'm not afraid to say that it took years to beat and master, when I was a kid..with faster reflexes. The only reason I'm better now is memory and the knowledge that I can do it. Like 6-2 used to be the ultra madness extreme level, but now it's more like reading a book, methodical and measured. It's even possible to get onto that ledge with that one fucker who has an eagle(hawk?) immediately before him on the part of the level before the last screen that leads to 6-3, without magic or getting hit, but you can to be "in the zone". The closest I can relate to that is engrossing book reading because I can't do Ninja Gaiden perfectly with distractions most of the time.

You could just not pick it up.

Misinterpreted the tone of your post, sorry anon. Probably 1½-2 years lol. It's something you go back and play for a while, then stop, then go back to learn. I won't even talk about the 6- levels because that's it own thing I learned long after first playing the game.

Much appreciated, but no need to apologize, you were polite n stuff.

Exactly. Ever try this: playing a game and then resetting or just shutting it off if you fuck up once? I did that with Contra Hard Corps and beat it flawlessly eventually.

I miss sequenced games like this and 8bit Castlevanias. Feels so much more game like and skillful but it's kind of a lost art.
