My setup in a hotel room when I went for a week training session for work. Imagine seeing some dude carry in his own tiny TV, I'm sure I looked autistic as hell. 9" PVM worked good in this situation but is too small for me to game on regularly. It's on my solder bench now as a test rig.

It’s a work in progress. I’m turning it into a hybrid station with a modern TV wall mounted on the top since I don’t have a whole room to dedicate for /vr/ at this point in time. I’m at that stage where the number one priority is just sitting down and finishing up the analog wiring, though I did a quick and dirty setup for the sake of having at least one image running.

Also assuming you wanted /vr/ answers:

>what are you currently playing
Nothing, last was Sonic 3&K

>Favourite system/game
Sega Saturn. Favorite game is pictured running.

>what’s your backlog
Too big for me to bother listing in full. Just the Saturn and DC ones add up to about 100 games

Some combination of Sonic CD, Adventure 2, and Bonk. Haven’t decided which one I want to do first yet.

A mess right now, don't even know where to start. Maybe Ace Combat 2 once my hard copy comes in, to round out having played and owned every game in the Strangereal setting.
>What's next
Short-term, finish wiring in my xbox hueg and HDD modded PS2. Long-term, probably a PS1 with flash card solution, maybe a Dreamcast since I don't currently own any Sega hardware and want to fix that.

>> No.5945048

>>5944659
>Nice symmetry, but the walls are barren. Time for some posters?
That’s more a thing to worry about once the wiring is done and the modern screen is put in. I had thought about putting some posters above the 2030s, but haven’t decided on what would work best for that.

>>5944732
Center is a Sony PVM-2530 with the sides being Sony PVM-2030s. I picked them because they supported RGB video and had a much less utilitarian look than other monitors of their sort. They’re also at a sweet spot for TV line count where you get the sharpest possible image before sprite blending effects start to break down, which makes them ideal for almost all /vr/ consoles.

The reason for having 3 is for /vr/ couch gaming since 25” of screen is a bit of a squeeze for 3-4 players at once. The “carts” are actually audio racks made by Sanus, sturdy, stationary, but not cheap if you can’t find them used.

A lot of JRPGs. I didn't have a PS1 when I was a kid, and didn't really like JRPGs, but now they're growing on me and I have a lot of highly-acclaimed ones to play. Phantasy Star IV, FFIX and Vagrant Story are on my short list right now.

I do a lot of emulating on PC as well as playing older PC games on my CRT, but I also have a softmodded Wii and freehdboot PS2 hooked up to the PVM so I can emulate 8/16 bit consoles as well as play PSX with the PS2. You can't see all the speakers but I have a 5.1 setup as well as zone 2 for the two top speakers so I can have sound coming out of the PC and the console attached to the PVM if I want. I hope you enjoy what you've got cause I certainly enjoy my crts. sadly my projector isn't in the best condition. the blue tube has an incredibly burnt spot where the phosphor is literally gone. I'm trying to rehome the projector right now as I'm moving across the country soon. The unit itself is in great condition it just needs new O7MSP tubes.

If any of you are in the Great Plains and would like this projector let me know. You can have it if you take it out of my house and aren't a total sperg.

here's a /vr/ pic of my KV-36FS13. A big CRT really is the way to go if you have the space. it's an incredible experience.

I had a couple of JVCs about a decade ago, a 32 and a 36, and I honestly don't miss them. The size was nice for playing 6th gen games with better graphics, especially JRPGs; I'm glad I played DQVIII while I still had my 36", it was great, but for older/sprite-based stuff, I didn't really feel a huge impact, even after using a 20 inch for most of my childhood.

I was aiming at a 27 inch, but then a PVM basically fell into my lap, and that was that. I'd still like a 27, though, I feel like that's a great compromise.

Probably because mini-consoles are the ultimate trash. If you're gonna emulate, just buy a mini-PC or hack a fucking Wii and do it the way god intended. A thousand times better and more cost effective in every way. Mini consoles are literally just copes from faggots who can't or won't get into genuine hardware, but still have a childish urge to caress some plastic from their childhood and advertise that they are soiboys.

Also, despite the fact that art is hideous, putting a TV in front of it is pretty fucking horrid. Plus the couch is way too far away to be practical for any actual gaming. This looks like the setup of someone who had to beg his wife/girlfriend to even allow him to buy those mini-consoles, and even then I bet she makes you put them away when she has company over.

Why not just get rid of it completely, then? If your family lacks the ability to bond as long as a TV is present, you probably need group therapy. Our TV sometimes goes months without being turned on. Learn moderating and grow the fuck up.

Not really digging the AV switch lying on the laundry pile or consoles on your desk space. Put the games somewhere else and put your consoles there or else get a shelf that fits under your TV.

>>5941824
How you keep those speakers from destroying your TV's purity and geometry? Bookshelf kinda bugs me and I think the Hi-Fi corner would look better if you turned it 45 degrees.

>>5942330
When are you ever going to show your Swancrystal or an actual game running on your PVM?

>>5945168
Get some dividers for the Kallaxes so you have less wasted space.

>>5950043
I like it, but it'd work better with a less-industrial looking CRT. Would be a GOAT contender with a Profeel or a B&O.

>>5951914
You should consider getting a laptop riser for the 8 inch PVM. It'll raise things to about the same height as the books and free up space underneath for a switch or low-profile console.

>>5956146
Screen looks like it belongs on your computer desk and not your entertainment center. Also, you would have been better served with a Wii and a Sewell converter and a PS3 or PSTV as an emulation station.
