I know that, but SFEX+a is much more charismatic for me. I guess it's how the game throws tons of characters at your face, or the anime cut-ins, or the music... well, a lot of things that EX2 didn't manage to capture all that well.
Also EX+a had Blair and her huge square butt as a plus.

Ryo cares for Nozomi, but some events can be missed(like x-mas event), or the phone calls with her, or some dialogue just by talking to her. He also got very mad when she was kidnapped, following those events I said, things make more sense.

But there is another missable thing with lore that people usually miss of "why, does Ryo act that way".There is a point in Shenmue 1 where the Abe Store old lady jokes how kid Ryo was a lady killer and how he had a crush for some girl at karate class or some shit. One of his friends joked with that, Ryo got embarassed, Ryo fought his friend with both getting hurt. That leads to that flashback with his dad where Ryo is hurt and said that he fought a friend and his dad reminds how friends are important because "parents die first, but friends stay". Now we go back to the rest of the dialogue of the Abe Store lady where she says that since that day Ryo stopped being a ladykiller and got more colder and quiet towards girls and closer to his friends.
That is one of the reasons why Ryo acts the way he does in the game, because "bros before hoes" .
The other reason is not putting your friends(female or not) into danger with his revenge. Which is why you only see his close friends in missable events and why he only makes vague questions when lurking for clues when talking to townfolks(only a couple realize this, like Tom). Ryo even does the same thing with Xiuying when she is a fucking master because he didnt want to put other people into his problems.

Back then, Soul Calibur and Dead or Alive 2 had some pretty good looking polygons. Kasumi and Ayane still looks great, but has since been supplanted by Hitomi, Christie, Mila, Marie, and NiCo but are still looking good to me today. Taki will continue to be a highlight thoughout the stage of time, but Sophitia has since been bested by Cassandra and Talim. The arcades also had some pretty great looking /vr/ 3D too. I remember Sega Super GT looking great.
