What's better to use when playing N64 and Saturn games? The actual consoles, or emulators? I've tested a few N64 roms, and some run pretty well and smooth, while others have crappy graphic glitches. I've also tested a few Saturn isos a while back, and they still ran pretty well with almost no graphic or sound glitches. Both N64 and Saturn are pretty hard to emulate, and I want to know if it's better to play them as actual consoles, or on emulators depending on the games.

Emulators obviously

I never had any issues with the actual consoles.

Are you going for optimal graphics and gameplay or being an armchair historian with muh authenticity?

This.
If you want optimal graphics and gameplay, then nothing is better than real hardware.
however, if you care about "muh authetnticity" like a snob, you can emulate and use shaders or whatever, but remember, emulation is just a recreation of the real thing, not the real thing.

For optimal graphics, gameplay and authenticity, you need the real thing baby. Emulating is for poor people. You don't want to be poor, do you sweetie?

Here's some N64 games that I have played with serious graphic and speed issues
Gauntlet Legends
Vigilante 8
Mario Tennis
NBA Hangtime

And how bad did they get once you emulated them?

>> No.5919302

>>5919286
I'm glad you asked. The first three were missing assloads of textures in the openings, the menus, and during gameplay. NBA Hangtime however would freeze and lag during gameplay.

You were using angrylion rdp plus, right? Or are you completely retarded? Which one?

haha this guy thinks that software emulation is fine

Kinda off-topic but what is everyone using to DDL ISOs these days?
Emuparadise closed shop, now I try to go to Coolrom it just gives me 404 on the DL pages
Looking for PS2 games specifically

have you tried googling emuparadise plugin for chrome?

Damn, I didn't Emupara was still working under the hood. Thanks for the tip

Although I ended up finding a site that has european PS2 games (which is what I wanted) called gamesgx. It's a spanish site but as far as I can tell their files are the same as the coolrom files which are clean

What do you mean 'clean files'?

>>5919560
welcome. I haven't done it myself but I assume it still works. got most of what I wanted from them a long time ago

>> No.5919757

>>5919563
I mean they're clean backups with proper MD5 hashes
But also I say avoid that site anyway because the files are broken up
>>5919567
Same. I have it my games saved too but decided to add a few more

strange question, original hardware is always better without a doubt. sex is fine with a condom, but why do it if you don't have to?

N64: hardware because of the controller and everdrive
Saturn: emulation because of price
